- ACS
- This Case Study documents the enhancement
of a Decision Support System software to enable
clients to analyze terra-bytes of data to determine
patterns and trends in the Medicare industry.
ACSs clients required the system to be
faster, stable, more scalable, and to provide
decreased query time. The system needed to be
simple for users and did not require users to
have prior knowledge of SQL structure. Microsoft
SQL ,Oracle, Delphi Client/Server & Midas/DCOM
were used. The resulting 3-tier independent
system exceeded all expectations.
- Client
/ Server Systems Over the Internet - This case study
addresses the ability of many users to download and install an
application independently at their separate locations with no
resulting compatibility issues. Scalability and slow development
time are two of the issues resolved by the new system. This particular
solution is used in the insurance industry, but can be beneficial
to any business.
- Web
Application - The discussed Web Application was developed
to support operations ranging from commodities trading to inventory
management over the Internet. The application is available over
the web through an authentication mechanism that allows for access
by internal and external users. Extreme scalability and high
availability are two issues resolved by the system.
